Our women’s team played two games in the LNFB league. The first match against Winterthur started strong, with two early tries showcasing some great skills and teamwork. However, Winterthur came back after the break, evening out the score. In the final minutes, Winterthur managed to cross the try line once more, resulting in a narrow 15-14 loss for Konstanz/St. Gallen.
In their second game against Würenlos, the women displayed strong rugby skills once again but struggled to convert them into points on the scoreboard. Despite good efforts and strong spirit, they finished with a 22-12 loss. We saw some close contests in both matches, and the team remains eager to build on these performances.
For the men’s team, the match against Monthey started on a high note, with Konstanz/St. Gallen scoring the opening try and dominating possession in the first twenty minutes, keeping the pressure on in Monthey’s half. Yet, Monthey managed to score in response, and by halftime, the score was balanced at 12-12. Early in the second half, Konstanz/St. Gallen pulled ahead with a successful penalty kick. However, Monthey’s forwards showed strength in the final stages, scoring two more tries through powerful mauls, leading to a final score of 24-15 in Monthey’s favor.
A big thank you to all our supporters who came out to cheer us on! We’re back at it next Saturday with the men’s team taking on CERN in Geneva. Stay tuned for more updates, and we look forward to seeing you on the sidelines!
